Today’s Booking Through Thursday question asks:
Do you have friends and family to share books with? Discuss them with? Does it matter to you?
Yes, sometimes and yes. I am fortunate that I come from a huge family of readers. Between my sisters and sister-in-law, my mom, my dad, my aunts, and my mother-in-law there are lots of books to share. What’s great is that we all have different interests so I have found some really good books to read. My husband loves to read as well, but we tend to have very different interests in books. We have, though, had some great discussions about the books that we had to read in high school. We were in the same English class from 8th grade to 12th grade and even though we left high school 17 years ago, we do have lots of fond memories of class discussions and projects.
As far as discussing them, I finally joined a book club and while we all have varied backgrounds, it usually leads to some great discussions about the books. I also have my blog, which is one of the reasons why I started it. I love seeing what everyone has to say about the books they read and I love sharing my own thoughts about what I read.
Reading is an important part of my life and there is nothing better than being able to recommend a book to someone. Sharing my love of reading with others is a gift that I love to give over and over.
What about you?
I like the way we book bloggers unite over books!
Sounds like you have quite a few to share with…and then there are all your bloggy friends too. That is the reason I started blogging.
