Book Beginnings Friday: 11th Hour

Please join Rose City Reader
every Friday to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are
reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence,
impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires.  Please
remember to include the title of the book and the author.

I’m reading 11th Hour by James Patterson:

A good-looking man in his forties sat in the back row of the auditorium at the exclusive Morton Academy of Music. He was wearing a blue suit, white shirt, and a snappy striped tie. His features were good, although not remarkable, but behind the blue tint of his glasses, he had very kind brown eyes.

If you know anything about me, you know that I love James Patterson’s books. I read quite a few of his series – Alex Cross, Michael Bennett, the Women’s Murder Club and Private – along with most of his stand-alone books. This one is the 11th in the Women’s Murder Club series and I am about half way through it. I just love the idea of four women – a detective, a reporter, a medical examiner and a D.A. – come together to help solve crimes. Do you read this series? Do you have a favorite series that you read?

I do read this series (as well the rest of JPs). One of my favorites is the "In Death" series by JD Robb.

I haven't read any of the "In Death" series, but I do love all the trilogies/series by Nora Roberts!

I've never read any James Patterson. I should read at least one to see if it's my thing or not. Thanks for visiting my blog earlier. Enjoy your weekend.

I love his books – they are usually quick reads with very short chapters that just makes you fly through the book.

Never read any of these, and actually never heard of it (oops). I'm not a big fan of murder mystery books, but from time to time I do grab one. Let us know how this one turns out!

I'm always afraid his books will be too scary for me. I think I was scared by one early on and haven't tried another.

Thanks for participating in Book Beginnings.
