But
maybe it’s something in the water — unlikely romances seem to take
root in Virgin River … helped along by some well-intentioned meddling,
of course.
My thoughts: This is the 11th book in Robyn Carr’s Virgin River series and I once again have enjoyed my visit back to this small town. This time around we find out Erin and Aiden’s story.
We first met Erin in A Virgin River Christmas when her sister Marcie was searching for Ian, her deceased husband’s military pal. Now, years later, Erin is struggling to adjust to live without having to take care of her younger two siblings. Deciding to take a break, she heads up to Ian’s cabin. We met Aiden in Temptation Ridge, along with the other Riordan brothers. Aiden has just come home from being a navy doctor and is looking forward to spending time with his family and relaxing. It is during a hike that he comes across Erin for the first time and their first meeting is quite eventful to say the least and ends up with Erin in the hospital. From that first sighting, a tentative rocky relationship develops. Their path to romance is not without it’s bumps, including a crazy ex-wife and her antics.
There are some other story-lines in the book as well. One involves Mel and Jack and the discussion of possibly adding to their family. Another one involves Art and his friend Netta, a girl he knew from the group home he used to live in. We also get quick updates on the other Virgin River residents, something that I look forward to with each visit to Virgin River.
As I slowly make my way through the Virgin River series, I find that each visit makes me wish I lived in Virgin River. It’s a community that comes together to help their own, whether they are old friends or new. I’m looking forward to reading the next installment!
