I did this last year, and it helped me set myself up for the upcoming year. I think this will be a fixed feature on January 1 of each year I blog.
One of my resolutions for 2013 is to be more organized – in life and in blogging. After Bloggiesta this past September, I came up with a blogger planner – a calendar/to-do list specifically for blogging. It was really helping me stay on top of reviews and planning posts in advance. Between work and the holidays, that kind of fell to the wayside, but I plan on going back to using it.
Reading Goals:
- Reading Challenges – I really enjoy participating in these
(posts will go up in the next few days for the challenges I am signing
up for) and I have picked ones this year that I really want to do. - My bookshelves – Once again I am going
to concentrate on reading the books I already have. To this end, I purposefully selected reading challenges that will lend to reading my own books.
Blogging Goals:
- Reviews – I am hoping to stay current with my reviews – and using my blogging planner will definitely help with this.
- Commenting – I am hoping to be more diligent on responding to comments left on my blog as well as commenting on all the blogs I follow.
Personal Goals:
- Exercise
– Despite some injuries that have sidelined me throughout the past year, I really enjoy working out and plan on making exercise part of my everyday life. I am really into yoga and meditation and plan on making these a priority in 2013. - Organization – This will be the major focus for me in 2013. I plan on going room by room through my whole house, getting rid of what is not necessary and making sure everything that stays has a place – no more piles of stuff all around!
I
have really come to enjoy blogging and look forward to this upcoming
year. Have you created any reading or blogging goals for the year?
Thank you for sharing your blogging and general resolutions. I hope to read more, and to be more organized as well. Happy New Year, Kristin!
Happy New Year to you too, Suko! Good luck with your resolutions.
Happy 2013 Kristin! Like you, I want to read more books that I own. I recently went through my shelves and culled books I knew I wouldn't read. That was something I wanted to do for months now! i'm also de-cluttering my entire house. I have too much stuff and it's time for it to go.
That's a great idea – get rid of those books you know you won't read now…I might have to do that, too! Happy New Year to you too Shonda!
Great post! Hope you have a great year!
Thanks Yvonne…Happy New Year to you, too!
Happy New Year. Great set of goals. I want to get back to using a blog calendar too.
I found using the blog calendar really helps. Happy New Year to you, too, Nise!
