I’m reading The Typewriter Girl by Alison Atlee:
Type-writer girls, they oughtn’t think too much.
I’m reading this book for a blog tour scheduled for next week. It has a very interesting premise and and I am enjoying it very much. Set in London area during the turn-of-the-century, Betsey Dobson is struggling to be viewed on her own merits – but in a man’s world, that is the unforgiveable sin.
I remember using an actual type-writer in a typing class in high school…something that is now a thing of the past. I think using the type writer really helped me pay attention to my typing as there wasn’t that delete button! Did you ever use a type-writer?
I like this book's beginning and I'm sure I'd enjoy the story too. I'm revealing my age here, but I learned to type on a manual typewriter. The keys were not labeled so we had to type by touch. Hard to believe, isn't it?
My Book Beginning is from PERIGEE MOON.
It's a pretty good story so far. I learned on an electric typewriter…can't imagine learning without being able to see the keys. I will say though that all those classes did make me a pretty good typer!
We still have a very old black heavy typewriter for decoration on the shelf. It weighs a ton and I wouldn't want to use it.
I would love to have an old typewriter – such a cool decoration!
I have this book sitting on my nightstand ready to be read next! I hope you are enjoying it. I will look forward to your review!

It's pretty good so far. My review will be up next Thursday!
I certainly do remember using a typewriter! We have a gorgeous vintage typewriter in our home (see my Muriel Spark post to view it: sukosnotebook.net/2009/03/comforters.html).
the cover is so interesting and i definitely feel i need to add this to my TBR
I remember using a typewriter in highschool also and having the carbon paper, sucked for mistakes, lol.
Those classes made me a great typist too.
I love the cover of this book, absolutely stunning in my opinion.
