I’m reading Henry VIII’s Wives: History in an Hour by Julie Wheeler:
The reign of Henry VIII was one of the most revolutionary periods in English history. The king’s obsessive search for true love and intense desire for a male heir led to England’s break from teh rule of Catholicism and the complete Reformation of the Church.
I am a huge historical fiction fan, particularly anything having to do with the Tudors. I saw this book on someone’s blog and decided that even though it’s non-fiction, I would give it a chance. I’m so glad I did. I’ve read many books about the different wives of Henry VIII, but never one that includes all six. Hopefully I will be finishing book up today or tomorrow – I like the idea that it’s a short book, but I’ve only read it in little snatches here and there and have no idea if it only takes an hour to read.
If you read non-fiction, have you read of the History in an Hour books?
What a neat meme. this looks like an interesting book, I have been trying to read more non-fiction and enjoy historical and cultural fiction too.
