I’m reading Lady of Ashes by Christine Trent:
Violet Morgan often wondered why she was so skilled at dressing a corpse, yet was embarrassingly incompetent in the simplest household task, such as selecting draperies or hiring housemaids.
Christine Trent is one of my favorite authors!!! I first came across her when her first book, The Queen’s Dollmaker was released and since then, I have read all her books, looking forward to each one with much anticipation!!!
Lady of Ashes is her newest book and the first of her historical mystery series. It features Violet Morgan who is an undertaker in Victorian London. I’m about a third of the way through the book and am absolutely loving it. Not only do I love the writing, but it is just a fascinating topic – I’ve learned quite a bit already!
Have you read any of Christine Trent’s books?
I am DYING to read this book!!!
It's really good!!!
What a great first sentence! I have never read this author's books but sounds like I should.
Oh…you should definitely pick one of them up – I've loved them all!
I have not read her books, but the premise of this book has got me interested.
It's so interesting…and I just read that Christine Trent is planning at least 3 books in this series.
