This weekend I will be participating in Bloggiesta! This event couldn’t be more timely as I been neglecting my blog lately due to life getting in the way.
This is a great weekend blogging marathon being hosted by Suey at It’s All About Books and Danielle at There’s a Book.
The premise of the bloggiesta, for
those that haven’t participated before, is to spend the entire
weekend working, updating, improving your blog. From minor things
such as writing up posts, to reaching out for guests posts and
reorganizing all of your tags and categories.
So what do I plan to do this weekend? Well… here’s my to-do list:
- Write up all outstanding reviews that I need to post
- Draft posts for upcoming reviews/posts for October
- Draft posts for STS and It’s Monday memes
- Update Review Archive list
- Organize twitter contacts into lists
- Clean up e-mails
- Update blog planner/calendar
- Participate in at least 2 mini-challenges
- Visit at least 10 blogs participating in Bloggiesta each day
It’ll
be a fun and hopefully very productive weekend. My list is small, but some of the tasks will be time-consuming. Plus, as I visit everyone else to see what they’re working on, I’m sure I find other things to add to my list!
What about you? Are you participating in Bloggiesta?
Update #1:
- Wrote 3 reviews
- Set up posts for 3 reviews
- Starting updating review archive – got Feb to Jun done
- Visited and commented on 13 blogs
Update #2:
- Wrote 2 more reviews
- Set up 3 more posts for upcoming tours/reviews
- Finished updating review archive
- Organized twitter contacts into lists
- Started updating blog calendar/planner
- Visited and commented on 17 blogs
- Participated in twitter chat on Saturday
I'm in! I'm so behind on my blog (and so many other non-blog projects) that I don't think I'll ever catch up but I love to visit other blogs during Bloggiesta. I see so many great ideas on everyone's lists. I really should do a planner/calendar too, for example. Good luck!
I'm always behind myself…and hope that this time I can get enough ahead to stay that way! (One can only hope!!!)
I love my planner/calendar – I created it last year during one of the bloggiestas and it really helps keep track of everything and is great for scheduling reviews.
Great list! I hope we both accomplish a lot…and have fun, too.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
Thanks…off to a good start getting some things done!
Good luck with your goals! I also need to plan/clean up emails/organize twitter & my feed reader with list(big priority)/etc. Eek! But we've both got this!
Yes – it seems that a lot of us have similar goals which makes the tasks less daunting!
Great bloggiesta to do list. I always love reading everyone's list cause it helps me to remember what to add to mine for next time. The list is never ever ending. Have a great Bloggiesta!
Thanks…the same happens to me – as I visit everyone, I end up finding new things to add to my list!
Great goals! I need to write outstanding reviews as well, but if I don't write them right after I finish the book I never seem to be able to. I hope you accomplish all you want to!
Mission to Read
I am forever behind in my reviews…hoping to get ahead and stay that way!
I should just copy and paste your goals- I really need a month long Bloggiesta to make a dent in my to-do goals! Good luck with yours!

I could definitely use a month-long bloggiesta, too! There's always something that needs to be done and I like knowing that this weekend, everyone is working on their blogs at the same time. It kind of makes the tasks a little less daunting!
Great list! I am definitely going to organize my Twitter contact lists as well. Good luck and have a great weekend.
I've seen others do it and think it would be helpful. Hopefully it's easy to do!
Hum, I tried to leave a comment before and it seems to have disappeared. Anyway, you do have some time-consuming tasks. Good luck getting them accomplished.
And I can relate to life getting in the way of blogging, especially recently 🙂
Life always has a sneaky way of getting in the way of things! Yes, most of my tasks are time-consuming, but that's why I saved them for Bloggiesta…with everyone doing some blog maintenance, it will motivate me to just get them done!
Yay, it worked this time!
Oh good!
Oh the dreaded review archive update, haha. I need to do it too! Thanks for stopping by my list and good luck on completing yours!!
I really just need to start doing it at least weekly – then maybe it won't be such a daunting task!
Oh goodness, organizing Twitter contacts into lists – tedious, but SO helpful! Good luck. Great list you have this weekend!
I sure hope so! No idea how to do it, though, so it might take me a while!
Listing your goals is a good step toward reaching them! Best of luck with your plans, Kristin. I can't seem to make much of a dent in my TBR stacks but I keep pluggin' along!
Thanks Suko! Unfortunately I won't get much reading time in this weekend, but as long as I get most of my to-do list done, I'll be ok!
I like that you plan your posts so far out! I never did that until recently and it was pretty nice. Nothing to worry about during the week.
Angie
I try to do that as much as possible and am not always successful. I hope if I get things set up now, it will be easier to maintain!
I thought about signing up for Bloggiesta but then forgot. I will probably spend part of my day writing reviews anyway. I always seem to be behind with that 🙂
Good luck with your goals!
Same here…I'm hoping to get caught up with my outstanding ones and set up the posts for books I know I will be reading soon – that way I can quickly write the review once I finish the book. That's my plan at least – we'll see how long it works before I'm way behind again!
Wow, it sounds like you're making great progress already! I like your goal of visiting a lot of other blogs and might add something like that to my list too 🙂
Thanks…plugging away! I saw someone had a goal of visiting everyone that's participating. I like that goal and will add that next time!
Ooo how do you organize twitter contacts? I am getting tired of the same people in my feed all day long. Great list!
You go to your "me" page, click on lists, then click on create lists and go from there. It's pretty easy!
Wow! You've gotten quite a bit done so far. Good luck tackling the rest of your list 🙂
Good job writing your reviews! Do you have more pending ones to do?
If you haven't already, stop by and enter my Bloggiesta Challenge Giveaway, which you can totally enter even if you don't complete the challenge!
