It’s Monday…What Are You Reading? (9.2.13)

It’s Monday What Are you Reading , hosted by Sheila, is the perfect way
for me to
begin my week and allows me to
focus on what
needs to be read and to see what I
have or have not
accomplished the previous week.
I also enjoy
discovering new books by
visiting other participants
blogs.

September is here and while I love summer, I am looking forward to the fall – it’s my favorite season!!! As I was looking over my calendar for this month I’m happy to see that I don’t have too many reading requirements, which means I can focus on reading some of my own books as well as working on making more progress on the reading challenges I am participating in. September is also a busy month author event-wise…as of now, I have plans to see JoJo Moyes, Adriana Trigiani (2nd time seeing her but can’t resist another visit) and Sue Grafton.

I would really like to read some of the books on my TBR mountain but my YA calendar is filled with review books and my adult calendar just has two openings. It is nice to have a reading plan but I would like some chance to read what I already own. Here is my Monday Report. Happy reading!

I've definitely been more selective when deciding which tours to be part of lately…so many books out there I still want to read!

I'm trying to bring everyone to the dark side of not accepting books for review – then no deadlines and no pressures 🙂

I've definitely become more selective when it comes to accepting review books, so that's a start!

I try to make time to read library books and books I want to read for fun alongside the review books but right now I am so behind that I am concentrating on getting through my ARC pile.

Queen's Gambit sounds really good. I am always fascinated by Tudor history. I hope you are enjoying it!

I try to balance them, too – but sometimes get overloaded on those review books.

I'm just about to sit down and get into the Queen's Gambit – I've heard really good things about it so I'm excited!

I'm looking forward to reading your review of Big Sky Wedding. Gotta catch up on the series first.

I am debating between reading or listening to Maine. How is the audio? Have a great week.

Looks like a very creditable list of books, just reading the comments and noticing the tension between review books and those we really want to read 'now'. The good thing I guess is that a review book might introduce us to an author we like. I have started using our local library a bit more, which is kinda nice!

YAY to having more of your own reading time. I'm working hard at being more selective with review books, it's a work in progress but it's so much fun making 'just for me' reading choices. The School of Essential Ingredients is one I'd like to read.
Have a great week and happy, happy reading 🙂

    I loved Queen's Gambit!

I'm reading The Lies You Told Me by Jessica Ruston and wish I didn't have to put it down.

You're so organized, Kristin. I hope the week ahead is full of reading time (quality time).
