#FitReaders is hosted by Geeky Bloggers Book Blog and That’s What I’m Talking About
Another good week…I managed to get another 5K on the treadmill at the gym again. And I’m done with jury duty…only needed to go in on Monday – those 14k+ steps that day were from me walking to and from the train station and then walking around the city…it was a cold day, but nice out and since I knew where I was going and got in to the city a bit early, I got off the subway one stop early to get in some walking. I did get a little lost, but did end up finding my way. Of course, not having my phone with me (couldn’t have it at court, so just left it at home) didn’t help matters, so every time I got turned around, I would pull my map out – and thank goodness for kind strangers pointing me in the right direction!!!
Here’s how my week of went:
Jan 9: 6,444 steps
Jan 10: 11,491 steps
Jan 11: 14,806 steps
Jan 12: 10,706 steps
Jan 13: 10,801 steps
Jan 14: 14,372 steps (5K on treadmill at gym)
Jan 15: 10,382 steps
Audiobooks listened to this week:
- Listened to The Storm Sister by Lucinda Riley, narrated by Noreen Leighton, Rachel Lincoln

Getting lost is a good way to get more steps
It certainly helped!!!
You did really well. Great people help. In Melbourne Australia when I visited they have volunteers who are out on the streets to help if you get lost!
Thanks…and I was lucky that there were nice people to point me in the right direction!
Great job! I hope you have a good week ahead.
Thanks and same to you!
As long as you don't have to be somewhere in a hurry, getting lost is a great way to up the step count. 3 5k's already … you rock!!
Luckily, I was early enough, that I had plenty of time to get there, even with getting lost 🙂
Glad you had a good experience. I don't know if I would have been that comfortable w/out my phone!
I like your count of 5k and 10k for the month – I may need to steel that idea from you! With your permission, of course!
It definitely was an experience without my phone, that's for sure!!!
Steal away, my friend, steal away 🙂
3 5Ks already! That's amazing! I think the 5Ks will be the hardest part for me of the challenge. Hopefully I can get my first in before the end of the month.
That's only because I regularly do them at the gym…and there's an option on the treadmill for it. I think getting a 10k in is going to be the hard one for me. I do want to get some outdoor ones in, though…just need to find some!
