#FitReaders: Weekly Check-in August 19

#FitReaders is hosted by Geeky Bloggers Book Blog  and That’s What I’m Talking About

Getting back into the swing of things after vacation is always tough…but I managed to get in 2 5K’s and some yoga. I think my priority over the next few weeks has to be making sure I’m eating enough. I’ve been so tired lately…and I don’t really think it’s that I’m not getting enough sleep – I’ve never been one to need a lot of sleep. I’m starting to think it’s that I’m not eating enough. I need to take a hard look at what I eat throughout the day and make sure its enough calories, protein and fat. I’m not a bit fan of tracking/writing down what I eat all day, but in this case I just might have to. Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated!!!

 My August Goals:

Coming off vacation is always rough. I swear I gain more the week I return than the week I was gone. You did a great job getting in your exercise!

So, I've tracked my food intake for over two years. I really like the LoseIt app, which also has an online component. I like that you can add in your own recipes and foods you commonly use. I also like that once you use a food, it stays in your list. It also ties into many restaurants and grocery stores. Of course the bar code scanner is the easiest. I know that there are other comparable apps, like MyFitnessPal, so just find one that works for you. It's easier than having to log things by hand in a journal. Email me if you have any specific questions!

I used a site called FatSecret to keep track, when I was tracking calories and what-not. I've been tired a lot lately myself but I think it's the heat that's getting me.

I use MyFitnessPal, which I see someone mentioned. I have lost 40 pounds in 10 months, and log my exercise AND food. It is a free app, and it has opened my eyes about what I eat, how much I eat, and the exercise I have done. Im a believer and now that I am at my goal, I will still continue to use it, just to keep on track.
Even if you don't want to lose weight, its a good tracking tool.
More importantly, I seriously love your blog and seeing your book reviews!
