#FitReaders: Weekly Check-in September 2

#FitReaders is hosted by Geeky Bloggers Book Blog  and That’s What I’m Talking About

What a stressful week!!! My older dog, Maddie, was sick at the beginning of the week and at first, we weren’t sure what it was from. It started with vomiting and her face was all swollen, and then the next morning, she had a seizure…boy oh boy was that ever scary! Luckily she only had the one seizure and the after a trip to the vet, with two rounds of blood work done, it was determined that she probably ate a poisonous mushroom from our backyard…which means she probably won’t have any more seizures – YAY!!! But, she’s now on antibiotics for the next month…not so good. Needless to say, I was home all week, and did a lot of walking/pacing! But she’s back to herself, finally, though now I’m sick – stress and me do not mix well 🙁

Those of you with Fitbits…have you seen the new Adventure Challenges? They are personal challenges based on step counts. Right now there are 3 of them, all set in Yosemite, with more locations coming soon according to Fitbit, and you can take as long as you need to complete them – or you can finish them in one day. I’ve done two of them so far and really enjoy them. They are a great individual challenge!

My August Goals:

* Because I will be starting my training schedule for the big walk in September, I am using August as a “rest month.”

  • 10K steps M-F, at least 7,500 steps on the weekend Nailed it!!!
  • 30 minutes of active walking every day, M-F – 5/5
  • Eat
mindfully – Way too stressful a week 🙁 This went out the window…this is always my downfall when I’m stressed…

My September Goals:

* I am starting my training for the Challenge Walk MS this month. I am still working out my training schedule, but I know that I will be doing some shorter walks during the week and my longer, distance walks on the weekends. So glad you guys figured out the problem and Maddie is okay! How scary. I have two cats, and they are getting up there in years. I fret every time I can't find them or don't follow their normal routine these days. They were my first babies!

Now that everyone is better… you can tackle the eating. We can do that together. I'm trying to be more on top of things than I have been because I was just coasting – which isn't working any longer.
