James Patterson’s BookShots. Short, fast-paced, high-impact entertainment.

Can a little black dress change everything in her life?

Magazine
editor Jane Avery spends her nights alone with Netflix and Oreos –
until the Dress turns her loose. Suddenly she’s surrendering to dark
desires, and New York City has become her erotic playground. But what
began as a fantasy will go too far… and her next conquest could be her
last.

***Short & Sweet Reviews are
short, quick reviews. These will mainly be used for series books where I
have already done full reviews on some of the earlier books or for
books that I feel will suffice with a quick review. These will not be
used for review requests or blog tours.

My thoughts:So, I’m a big fan of James Patterson – I read just about all his books, despite the fact that I am desperately behind in his series. His latest big thing are these “BookShots” books – short, quick reads that surely pack quite a punch! This is the first one I’ve read and boy oh boy, did I fly through it!

I will say this particular story is almost borderline erotica – it’s definitely not for young kids! That being said, it was surely an interesting ride to go along with Jane Avery, the main character. I definitely did not connect with her at any level, but for some reason, I just had to read the whole book…possibly because it was only 108 pages and a very quick read. Had it been a full-length book, I definitely won’t have read the whole thing. I didn’t read the whole 50 Shades of Grey series, but I gather this is somewhat similar – and I had no desire to read that series and this just further reinforces that.

I do have more of these BookShots” and hope they are better – this one was a stand-alone, so I won’t have to revisit this particular character/storyline again. Not the best introduction to the “BookShots” concept, but I’m willing to give them another go.
