new daughter, Lindsay is forced to return to work to face two of the
biggest cases of her career.
A rising star football player for
the San Francisco 49ers is the prime suspect in a grisly murder. At the

heard: An eccentric English professor has been having vivid nightmares
about a violent murder and he’s convinced is real. Lindsay doesn’t
believe him, but then a shooting is called in-and it fits the
professor’s description to the last detail.

much time to stop a terrifying future from unfolding. But all the crimes
in the world seem like nothing when Lindsay is suddenly faced with the
possibility of the most devastating loss of her life.
***Short & Sweet Reviews are
short, quick reviews. These will mainly be used for series books where I
have already done full reviews on some of the earlier books or for
books that I feel will suffice with a quick review. These will not be
used for review requests or blog tours.
My thoughts: I love the Women’s Murder Club series more for the character development of the four women than for anything else. I love seeing how these four women – Lindsay, Claire, Yuki and Cindy – come together to help each other – though in this particular book, the women are each wrapped up in their own issues and it keeps them more separate than usual. Lindsay becomes focused on her baby’s health, Yuki is focused on her courtcase, Claire is wrapped up in the missing dead body, and Cindy is consumed with her relationship. Luckily, though, these stories do become interlinked towards the end of the book and the girls do end up coming together, making it more like is should be!
But
each of the women know that even in their darkest hour, they have the
others to lean on…even when they have their own issues to deal with.
That is where this series shines – the interpersonal relationships
between these gals feels so real and I love that.
This book really keeps you on your toes and I have to say, with all the twists and turns that are thrown at us, I did not see the ending coming! I love the drama that goes on – it adds a nice element to the book and with the short chapters, you just feel the need to keep reading! The tension is just naturally there and you can’t help but get wrapped up in what is going on. We are left with quite a cliffhanger at the end and I am curious as to how it is handled in the next book…
