My thoughts: After not really liking the last installment of this series, I’m happy to say this one was much better and more in style to what I usually expect from an Alex Cross book. There was the usual non-stop action, the case that had Alex, his partner Sampson and the rest of the team struggling for answers and some close calls for Alex – all par for the course. This is what I have come to expect from this series and why I enjoy it so much.
I also have to come really enjoy the interaction that we get from the Cross family. This is a big part of this series and I love that we have really come to know each of the Cross family members. We know just how important each and every member of the family is to Alex and I feel this is just as important to the overall arc of the books as the case itself. This is what makes Alex the strong character he is.
I’m so glad I decided not to give up after reading one bad book in this series…and this one just proved it. I really love this series and can’t wait to see what comes next!
