My thoughts:  I have been a fan of Carly Phillips ever since hearing about her when Kelly Ripa choose her book, The Bachelor, to be book club pick. Since then, I have pretty much devoured every book Carly Phillips has written. And I have to say, after reading Dare to Love, that I feel Carly has definitely moved back to the steamy, hot love stories that I remember her for, maybe even going a bit steamier if that’s possible!

There’s just something about Ian Dare that won me over the instant he appeared in the book – he just might be my new book crush!!! Then’s there’s Riley. From the moment these two lay eyes on each other, it’s not the love-at-first-sight that gets you so much as the passion that heats up between them. Of course, there are a few obstacles in the way – including Riley’s best friend who happens to be Ian’s estranged half-brother and the fact that both are quite stubborn. 

I love reading books where family dynamics play a central role, probably because I come from such a big family myself. No matter how much a family gets along, or doesn’t, there are always issues that need to be worked out. Watching Ian figure out how to work with Alex when a situation arises is hopeful for their future, especially since Ian and Riley will end up together.

I loved this first installment in what I hope is going to be a long
series, and considering there are eight Dare siblings, I’m hopeful there
will be at least eight books – one for each of them! Next up is Alex, Ian’s half-brother, and while he had a bit part in this book, I am looking forward to getting to know him better in his own book!
