22 Seconds by James Patterson & Maxine Paetro #bookreview #shortandsweetreview #series

I purchased this book for my own personal collection.

Summary:

22 seconds… until Lindsay Boxer loses her badge—or her life.

SFPD Sergeant Lindsay Boxer has guns on her mind.

There’s buzz of a last-ditch shipment of drugs and weapons crossing the Mexican border ahead of new restrictive gun laws. Before Lindsay can act, her top informant tips her to a case that hits disturbingly close to home.

Former cops. Professional hits. All with the same warning scrawled on their bodies:

You talk, you die.

Now it’s Lindsay’s turn to choose.

My thoughts:

I have been reading James Patterson for quite some time and the Women Murder Club series is one of my favorite series. These books are just pure enjoyment and anytime I get to spend with these four women is fine with me!

This time around, Lindsay finds herself working with Joe and the AFT trying to figure out just who is behind the smuggling ring of drugs and guns. Is it someone on the force? And Cindy is busy working on a book. The other two women, Claire and Yuki, aren’t as involved this time around, though we do see them here and there. That does tend to happen now and then and while it isn’t my preference, I still enjoyed this book. The action is pretty much non-stop and I loved having Lindsay and Joe working a case together, though I will say it did make me a bit nervous when things got dangerous – if something happens to both of them, their poor little daughter will be left without anyone and that makes for some heart-racing moments!

I’m not sure how James Patterson and Maxine Paetro continue to keep this series so exciting and new but it is and I will be a die-hard reader until the end. Cannot wait to get my hands on the next book!!!
