My thoughts:
I bought this last year purely as a cover buy…and it’s still one of my favorite covers! I was also drawn to the story line – yes, I do look at the synopsis when browsing books at bookstores…and this one totally got me – a cold case, a police procedural featuring an unlikely pairing – I couldn’t wait to read it & it totally delivered as I had hoped! In many ways, this reminded me of one of my favorite books, Please See Us by Caitlin Mullen – another book I totally think doesn’t get the attention it deserves. And like that book, what I loved so much here is that we are given a voice to the victims. It’s powerful and raw and something I won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
This debut will be going on my favorites shelf and I will absolutely be keeping an eye out for what this talented author writes next!
